The digital transformation of established insurers is changing how consumers buy and manage their insurance. Thanks to Kris Ballantyne from Partners Life and Michelle James from Tower for their insights during our most recent event in November into how these brands are bringing digital and data to life for consumers.

Who in the audience could fail to be excited about the wealth of data on offer to underpin new products. The 1.7B data points generated by Tower’s 25 partners is just one example.

Kris explained how data is guiding business models too. While consumers are increasingly searching for digital-led transactions, this doesn’t necessarily mean everyone wants a digital-only experience, and the hybrid model offers many opportunities for InsurTechs and intermediaries alike to extend the sweet spot for more customers.

For those who couldn’t make the meeting, watch the presentations and Q&A here.

Speaking of numbers, who else saw the news that Open is ranked the 7th fastest growing company in AFR’s Fast 100? Nice one team!

Australia is a key market for many of our members, and our first event in 2022 will look at the InsurTech landscape over the Tasman. Mark 9th February in your diaries.

We’ve built up a good head of steam since becoming established in July, despite the headwinds of COVID-19. Thanks to the organisations who have signed on as members, and for the many offers of support and interest.

Kind regards,
Blair Turnbull, Co-chair & Dale Smith, Co-chair
