InsurTechNZ was established in 2021 to foster collaboration between companies who share a common interest in using data and digital strategies to improve the customer experience. Blair Turnbull, a founding co-chair, has stepped down from his InsurTechNZ role. We want to thank Blair for his energy and vision during those two years in helping create this community. Kylie Bryant, a Director at Deloitte, has picked up the baton from Blair and will work alongside Dale Smith, also a founding co-chair, to build on our momentum.
In 2023 we will develop a Charter, consistent with similar NZTech communities, and members will be contacted in coming months to contribute to the process.
Member events are key to encouraging best practice across the industry. In February, a panel discussed how insurers are using data to prepare for COFI and ensure they do the right thing by customers. Our thanks to speakers from Cigna, Deloitte, Fidelity Life, Southern Cross and Tower. If you couldn’t make it on the night, a recording can be found on our website here.
Our next event, on 29 March, hosted by AWS will share experiences innovating in claims and underwriting. Register to attend here.
InsurtechNZ is supporting Kiwi insurtech expanding into Australia. Sentro was one of three members who attended InsurtechLive23 in Sydney last month. Read their take on the event here.
TechWeek , 13-20 May, is an opportunity to profile data and digital careers in insurance to a broad audience. If you’d like to be involved, let us know at info@insurtechnz.org.nz
How about giving an accolade to your preferred technology and software providers? Nominate them to Insurance Business Magazine’s ‘5 Star’ Awards by completing this survey before 10 March.
Best wishes,
Dale Smith co-chair and Kylie Bryant, co-chair
