Ireland’s InsurTech sector is going global

The 2025 Irish InsurTech Report by InsurTech Ireland paints an exciting picture of a sector that has well and truly outgrown its “emerging hub” status. With over 120 active firms and 86% of companies planning international expansion within the next three years, Ireland is stepping confidently onto the world stage of insurance innovation.

Themed “Going Global,” the report highlights how Irish InsurTechs are targeting key markets including the UK, US, and Europe, backed by a strong domestic ecosystem, Enterprise Ireland, and the newly launched Foundry accelerator, Ireland’s first dedicated InsurTech accelerator.

AI sits at the heart of it all. 92.9% of companies consider AI important to their current business, with automation, underwriting intelligence, and claims innovation leading the charge. Challenges remain, particularly around legacy systems and long sales cycles, but optimism across the sector is high.

From parametric solar insurance to AI-driven claims management, Irish InsurTechs are solving real problems at scale, and the world is starting to take notice.
